Every language as current as English.
In a Freshdesk multilingual knowledge base, translations don’t know when the primary article changes. TidyKB notices, flags them and writes a new draft in each language with your glossary. A person approves every draft.
Run free auditSample translation status for the article “Export your data”: French up to date, German three versions behind with a new draft ready for review, Spanish missing.
The problem
Mark as outdated, per article, per language, by hand
Freshdesk asks you to mark translations outdated yourself: “You perform this action each time you update the primary article.” There is no built-in translation of knowledge base articles. When the German article is six months behind, Freddy gives German customers a six-month-old answer.
How it works
How translation sync works
- 1
Detect
Each scan compares every translation with its primary article and lists what is outdated or missing.
- 2
Draft
Only changed articles are re-translated, keeping HTML, links and your glossary terms intact.
- 3
Review
Drafts are saved in Freshdesk. A reviewer reads, edits and publishes as usual.
Why it matters
What you get
Your glossary, enforced
Product names stay untranslated and terms stay consistent across every article. Import it from CSV.
Drafts, not publishes
Nothing reaches customers until someone on your team approves it in Freshdesk.
Real Freshdesk articles, so Freddy sees them
Translations live inside Freshdesk, so its search and Freddy use them, unlike a website translation overlay.
Before and after
Today in Freshdesk, and with TidyKB
Today in Freshdesk
- Today: Mark translations outdated by hand, per article
- Today: Copy text into DeepL, paste back, fix the links
- Today: Freddy answers from the six-month-old German article
With TidyKB
- Outdated and missing translations found every scan
- Only changed articles re-drafted, with your glossary
- Drafts saved in Freshdesk for a person to approve
Safety
Nothing changes until you say so.
Freshdesk’s API has no versions and no bulk update, so TidyKB re-reads and compares every article immediately before it writes, snapshots what Freshdesk returns afterwards and undoes a batch in one click.
How we handle your API keyFAQ
Questions, answered
Can Freshdesk translate knowledge base articles automatically?
Not natively. A Freshworks community manager confirmed on 31 March 2025 that Freshdesk has no built-in feature to translate knowledge base articles automatically.
Which Freshdesk plan do I need for multilingual articles?
Multilingual knowledge base is a Freshdesk Pro and Enterprise feature. TidyKB works with the languages you have enabled there.
Is AI translation good enough for customers?
It writes drafts, not published articles. Your glossary is applied, only changed articles are re-translated, and a person approves each draft in Freshdesk.
Where is the text sent?
Article text is sent to Anthropic’s API to write the draft; see the subprocessors page. No ticket or customer data is ever read or sent.
